Just bought my first mig welder. It was kinda a cat in the sack type of deal. Couldn't try it out, was no wire in it so here's my issues. 1 drive rolls are stamped .030 2. 10 pound spool doesn't seem to be wide enough for hub 3. It came with a10/3 extension cord 4. Drive rolls have 2 grooves in them is on for .030 and other for .035 or at both grooves for .030. And how thick can you weld with .030 5. Welder is set up with a Tweco elimanator whip that looks to be lined for .035 can I still run thirty thousands wire in it? I paid 400 for this thing did I get hosed. Sorry for all the newbie questions. Any help is greatly apreciated
Reply:If it works, you didn't get hosed at that price. If it doesn't work, fixes aren't too expensive. You can run .030 wire with the .035 liner. Reply:Congrats. You just bought the welder version of a Hemi-Cuda..030 is a good all around wire up to 5/16-.Go download all of the manuals from Miller. The setup portion will get you going and familiarize you with the liners, rollers etc. http://www.millerwelds.com/service/l...LERMATIC%20200Last edited by Burpee; 01-21-2014 at 05:51 AM.Bubble gumTooth pixDuct tapeBlack glueGBMF hammerScrew gun --bad battery (see above)
Reply:The rolls are usually .030 and .035, and are usually stamped both sides. This machine is set up for the 30# rolls. I made a spacer out of a piece of ABS pipe to keep the 10# rolls engaged. Sounds like you bit a good deal.
Reply:The drive rolls are only stamped 030 on one side and nothing on the other and don't appear to be knurled Can I run a 44Lb spool. Once aGain thanks guys

Reply:Great price for a great machine as already indicated and the thing was born just a hop, skip and jump from you up in Appleton. Originally Posted by large-humanThe drive rolls are only stamped 030 on one side and nothing on the other and don't appear to be knurled
Reply:There's a lot of blue around here. The only red welders you see are the 225 tombstones or the 110 migs |
