Stubby gas lens issues.

I have a A150 (#17) torch that I am trying to set up for a stubby gas lens.  All weldcraft parts.  I am currently using a A125 (#9) torch, gas lens, #8 cup.  Welds fine, 18-20 cfh argon, I can pull the tungsten out 3/4" and still have it be happy.So the A150, welds fine with a standard collet set up (as fine as it should).  I put the stubby gas lens on, the same #8 cup as I use on the A125, the correct collet and insulator and it welds like crap. At 18 cfh of argon it sounds like 3x the gas that comes out of the A125.  I have tried it from 8 to 30 cfh of argon, and anymore than 1/4" of tungsten stick out burns the end of the tungsten off.I pushed the tungsten inside the cup and held my thumb over the nozzle and hit the purge button.  It held pressure for 10 seconds, so there's no internal leak.I will pick up another pack of stubby gas lens tomorrow, but I don't think both of the ones I have can be bad.Has anyone experienced this? Should I order a CK one to try instead?Thanks

Reply:I picked up a third gas lens this morning.  It still sounds different than a standard gas lens on the A125, but this one is giving me the gas coverage that I was looking for.
