for my lincoln 185. I just picked it up for Christmas and want to start doing aluminum welding. I have a boat and it comes in handy with stuff I want to add on. Now, the thing is....aluminum requires high current. I"m sure my air cooled torch is fine for small projects and steel, but if I get heavy into aluminum...it's gonna heat up real fast. I've been searching(in the forums), but I can't seem to find models(names ,suppliers) for my lincoln. Any help in the right direction would be gladly appreciated.
Reply:Any #20 torch would be fine. Some say WP20, etc...Sometimes you can find good used ones on Ebay. I would go for 25' leads personally. Like this one:http://cgi.ebay.com/tig-torch-weldcr...QQcmdZViewItemLast edited by orphan68; 01-07-2006 at 02:00 AM.

Reply:I've never seen those before. Looks very interesting. Next time I'm in the market for a water cooled torch, I will have to seriously consider the crafter series. Looks very rugged and practical.

Reply:Wow!! I appreciate all the input guys. thx!! ONe more thing. I"m also trying to find the cable hookup for my machine - to run water. I already got the #20 torch I want. Now I found this number for the cable setup. KP504Is this the correct number? I found it here. I appears that it might be for older machines, but since it's SAt. I can't call any dealers to verify.http://content.lincolnelectric.com/p...ure/e12150.pdfRight now I'm not interested in the cooler cause it's just too much money at once. I wanna get the torch and the cable the hookup only. I figure I might be able to find a good deal on a cooler on ebay. |
