has anyone worked with the Lincoln square wave tig, I have a friend that is selling one and want to know other peoples openion, is this a good beginners machine for alum and steelMatt the Alaskan red neck
Reply:What size?  I've got a sw 175 that i got cheap. i wouldn't buy one again, Kinda small for me.  Works good on thinner steel & stainless. Stick welds good. Not happy with the tig performance on alum. not good for much over 3/16 alum. When i buy another tig, It's gonna be a 300+amp inverter machine. But its a decent starter machine, in my opinion. We need to protect Freedom of Speech, otherwise, how would we know who the A-holes (like me) are.
Reply:if its a squarewave 255  buy it NOW !!!! those are some awesome machines dawg
Reply:My SquareWave Tig 275 has been a great machine....
Reply:personally agree with BB you will wantnothig less thann 250 and a 300 is better.  Going to helium helps a lot, but its more expensive too.  Depends on how much you plan on doing you could easily pay the differnce of the welder in the cost of helium.IF it Catches...Let it Burn
Reply:I have a square Wave Tig 355. Truly awsome. 2-420 amps. Comes standard with pulse, balance control, up slope, down slope, spot, start control. etc.
