I'm looking to buy my first tig machine and would like a good machine for not too much money. It will be used to help me practice at home, and for the occasional fab project. I want to become proficient in stainless and aluminum.
Reply:check on craigslist and ebay - sometimes you can score a big old miller for cheap b/c it's 'pickup only' and nobody else wants to haul something that big. They don't have computer chips, and the coils are almost always copper. If you can find an apb or dialarcHF, you'll have the high frequency you need for specialty metals.
