ok people last I hered there is engineering in progress , for not only a second line but 2 one cutting down the coast of canada to washington state . prob now is cananda but respectfully , they asked for a few taps off the line , but british  petrolium said (NO) mind you british petrolium bought out arco (* fo those of you that dont know .a yr and a half ago I was contacted by reps from B/P and AWS looking for stick welders , out of 800 people that replied I was in there 38 people out of 800 list . 38 people out of 800 hundred biolermakers ?????????????????, excuse me but wake up there now talking about bringing in tech from other countrys . this is our home our lively hood our work , we learned from people we love and respect as soon as the canaidian issue is done it will start and we here in US as welders will fall by the way side of the loggers , and I rember when I used to weld for them .
Reply:Wouldn't mind having a crack at that pipeline. Have to be an experience that.I'd rather be hunting........USE ENOUGH HEAT.......Drifting around Aussie welding more pipe up, for something different.....wanting to get home.
Reply:I almost signed up for the pipeline back in '74, but decided against it. Pay was great, but cost of living was beyond ridiculous.

Reply:Presently there is a LNG pipeline as part of a plan to start pulling the LNG and transporting thru another line besides the TAP to Nikiski for export.  Any actual work is years away,

Reply:I think the Union will be grabbing some more major pipelines. I am looking into checking out the 798 hall? I think that's the pipeliners union. I did email the Mid-Ohio pipeline company. Sent my resume and everything. They will have it on file for like 120 days.
