Can anyone tell me who made this old Craftsman torch and what type tips work on it?  Got it in a trade with a friend.  I bought new (used) gauges to replace his. Reply:The cutting tip looks similar to the Harris 6290 type tips, but the mounting flange is much thinner on yours. In looking at tips, it seems some of them are two piece, with an inner brass insert and a copper outer shell that looks identical to yours (like this). Does your tip fit properly in your torch? If not, perhaps part is missing? Photos or the mating faces of the torch and tip would be very helpful.

Reply:ATL Welding seems to have some funky old stuff.  I think they've been around long enough to know a thing or two.  You could always call them and see if they know their stuff.  The newer 6290 Harris tips seem to have a similar seat, but are taller where the nut goes.  An adapter nut is available to use the old tips with the newer torch.  Not sure if there's a solution for the other way around.
