I have this welder that was bought in the 1960s I would guess. It take a 50A input. I do not easily have a 50A outlet but do have 30A outlet. Can I use it on some of its settings?
Reply:i have the same welder. i used a 30 amp breaker with it for years with no problems, but i didn't do a lot of heavy welding for any long periods. The most you'll do is constantly blow the circuit breaker wich turns out to be a pain in the neck. It's been a while since i switched to a 50 amp breaker, but i think i just ran some #8 wire from the panel to the proper receptecle and threw in a fifty amp breaker. |
