New to the forum, new to Tig welding. Got some experience with Tig in one of my classes last semester and I was hooked. Unfortunately, no more Tig classes offered .So, finally got some money and ponied up for the Thermal Arc 186 from weldersupply.com with the foot pedal for under $1700.Also ordered a 17series torch. From the reviews I've read and the pictures, no point in messing around with the huge-looking TA torch.Now, just need to find a damn place to get some argon. Closest welding store (AirGas) to me (in SW, PA - outside Pittsburgh) is only a retail store and doesn't sell or fill tanks according to their website. It also doesn't help that I work later than any of them are open. I guess the first thing to do is build a cart! |
