This has probably been covered before...tig torch recommendation for Syncrowave 250

I was looking to replace the huge TEC HP -26 torch that came with my newly acquired Miller Syncrowave 250.  I'm not planning on doing any ship building in the back yard anytime soon.  With that said, I am basically a newby to Tig welding, and my metal projects will be on the small side.  Believe it or not I bought the Syncrowave for much less that a new Tig welder.  So I was looking at Weldcraft tig torches, recently acquired by Miller.  I was looking for either a No. 9 or No. 17.  I don't have a water cooler, so I am looking at just an air cooled model.  What connections will I need to install one of these on a Syncrowave?  Presently the TEC has a gas line that is zip tied to the power cable, and it is like wrestling a snake.  The power line anchors to a terminal on the welder and the gas line screws into the valve on the welder.  I am looking for something smaller and less cumbersome to handle.  Suggestions and recommendations are welcome and appreciated!  Thank you,Eric
Reply:I'd go with a CK torch over a Weldcraft. They have a higher duty cycle for the same size torch.I believe the 26 uses the same parts as the 17 does, so if you have a bunch of parts already go with the 17 size torch. If you don't have parts, either will work. The 9 series torch is much smaller and more compact. The CK 9 series torch has a duty cycle that is almost the same as the Weldcraft 17 does. I'd go with one of those if you plan to stay with a torch in that amp range. The CK 17 size torch is probably just about the same duty cycle as your 26 is.Connection wise I'm not sure exactly what you want to get. All the Syncrowave 250's I've delt with all had coolers attached and used Dinse connectors. If you go with a Superflex 1 piece hose, you'll need to get an adapter to make your hookup. If you talk to the supplier they can probably get you what you need when you order. CK 9 size torch.
