I'd like to be able to get straight cuts out of a bandsaw.  Mainly going to cut 45 degree angles and make stuff square with it. I'm really depending on the saw working right.  I see FEMI, Ellis, and KAMA, each one about $500 more than the other, Kama being the most expensive at $3200.The FEMI model not sure of, but the Ellis 1600 and KAMA ev998 are the models I'm looking at, basically something I can cut 45 degree angle at 4.5" wide material.  I can see on KAMA's website that they cut very accurate.  I'd like to know if anyone has any experience between these 3 brands.  The FEMI and KAMA are smaller, which is nice to me.  I don't have a lot of room.  Let's say I wanted to 4 45 degree cut square tubes 4 ft long, can I take any of these saws and use them to cut, and put the square tubes up and be 90 degrees of one another, not 91?
Reply:I would go with the Ellis. As long as you have the correct blade in decent shape you can expect accurate cuts with the 1600 Ellis.
Reply:I have an Ellis and am very pleased with the way it cuts.
Reply:I bought the Ellis as well, good saw for the money.
Reply:'nother vote for ellis.  Very easy to change the angle.  Hitting 90 degrees right on the money depends more on you than the saw.  Mine is very accurate.  After changing angles using only the protractor (?) on the saw, I can reset to zero and make an almost perfect cut.  I sawed off a part and then put it in the lathe.  I only had to take about .010" to clean it up.  IMO that is very good for a saw.  The part was 2.5" solid steel round if I remember right. My name's not Jim....
