Reply:Is the machine set for touch start maybe? Touch the tungsten to the ground clamp then slowly lift it away. If it's set to touch start, it will "light up" when you lift it off the ground or part. Two turn tables and a microphone.
Reply:What is torch start?the "lift arc" option? Is so then no. Its set to HF mode.
Reply:Can you take a close picture of the controls on the machine? I can't find any pictures that I can actually see what the settings are. Got to make sure its all set correctly. Are you sure you have the work lead (ground) connected to the steel? Even without the work clamp attached you can get HF sparks. Make sure the connections are tight on the machine.Airco Ac/Dc 300 HeliwelderMillerMatic 200 (stolen)Miller Maxstar 150STLMiller AEAD200LE (welding and generating power) Hobart MIG

Reply:Well I did clean the edges of both pieces of steel before I did. I just didn't clean the other side. Not until just earlier when I put a weld down on it..

Reply:Either add less wire and maintain the same travel speed or slow down and hold a longer arc because that is excessive reinforcement and cold welds. Two turn tables and a microphone.
