This is my solution to trying to accommodate large gas cylinders on welding machine carts.   I just got them off the cart all together.   Not only are the carts lighter and easier to maneuver around the shop but I'm having to do a whole lot less cylinder handling.   When a bottle runs out I just have to swap a flow meter to another bottle in the 6-pak instead of taking the empty off the cart and putting a full one on.   In fact almost all the cylinder handling is now getting done by the LWS driver that delivers the bottles.  I've got hoses (with quick disconnects on the machine end) long enough to reach any where in the shop.   It also makes changing between gas mixes much faster and easier.   Here's a 6-Pak "to go"....

Reply:Nice set up.  Looks like you got a system to identify empties too. You might want to stress with who ever might move the six pack with that forklift that it will highly tick you off if they clip the hoses against a stationary object while they are moving the rig.I've seen far too many side swipe events with forklift operators getting closer to objects than their experience level qualifies them for.

Reply:Looks good. Not sure of your experiences, but I have noticed a wicked surge of gas when using my spoolgun on a 100' hose, and it seems to mess with the weld starts too. My suitcase wire feeder (a miller 8rc) has an optional built in flowmeter (the only one I've ever seen actually), and it does not have that same problem. So now I have pressure regulators on my bottles set at 50 psi, and a flow meter on each device.
