Blown methanol injected 632cid big block Ford. Last year it was running 6.5 second 200mph quarters. Broke a billet crank at end of year and first run in Bay Town TX this year-oops. Good friend of mine is owner/wrench and his wife drives. NHRA Top Dragster [not top fuel] is an et class race that must not run faster than 6 seconds, 40 fastest make the field and rest go home. Fastest qualifiers have lane choice. Buddy was running naturally aspirated year before last and had troubles making the field depending who showed up. Blower installed last year and making the field was easier except for learning curve on blower motors breaking stuff!Recommended procedure is to preheat 350 degrees, weld hot, post heat 350 and cool slowly. I follow only because it works! Syncrowave 250, 2%lanth 3/32, A356 filler. OH forgot to mention, the welding was the easy part!Peter Attached ImagesEquipment:2 old paws2 eyes (that don't look so good)1 bad back

Reply:That's very good work. Looked pretty ugly before you fixed it! Holy smokes!
Reply:I always love seeing the magic you can do on these sorts of projects. I'm guessing you've been busy lately since I haven't been seeing you post much. That's not a bad thing..No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Government programs, once launched, never disappear. Reply:How do you do the final CC ? Do you do it by hand in the chamber or with seat depth ? Been too many years.Seems we set the depth with an indicator before the final angle was ground and sandpaper rolled the shroud area for that final little bit. I had gotten out of it about the time Holley introduced the Dominator series . The only blowers we ever fooled with were in the back of the van in the pits( a field somewhere in the Carolinas) Bubble gumTooth pixDuct tapeBlack glueGBMF hammerScrew gun --bad battery (see above)
Reply:Man that is nice work. I guess it was more cost effective to repair than replace ? I see something like that come off a car, I'm thinking no way that can be fixed. Again, awesome work.

Reply:LOL. Yeah. I now what it CC'ing is, did a bunch (pre email version) but to get the chamber to the same CC are you setting the valve deeper in the seat or removing material from the chamber. I seem to recall setting the depth of the valves equally and dealing with volume difference with a die grinder.Oh she was a huffer.
