Hey guys.I have a bit of a delema on my hands.I have a chance to purchase the following tools:Enco Metal Cutting Band Saw, model # 137-3750andEnco drill press, model # 126-2170both have lots of use on them, but both do work and run.story behind it goes like this. These were my brother in laws tools, who passed ~6yrs ago. They have been sitting in his garage, mostly unused since then, only used a handfull of times since by his oldest son..but the kid isnt into metal work at all.I want to make an offer for them, since the family could use the money, but I dont want to really low ball them on the peices, nor do i want to overpay, when i could get somthing similar or better.any opinions on what these 2 machines are worth? i know the bandsaw needs a blade. (i was the last to use it) pics of each of the tags on the machines.bandsawdrill pressthanks in advance for any help you guys can give me.
Reply:Here is a ebay on the drill press http://cgi.ebay.com/Enco-Drill-Press...-/230512684026enco discontinued the band saw no ideaif its a 4"X 6" horizontal type maybe $125.
Reply:You might ask a dealer to do an appraisal (make an offfer to purchase the tools) and then approach the heirs with your offer which will be higher than what they could get if they sold them to the dealer. That way, the dealer takes the heat for the low priced offer; and you might get the tools at a realistic price.Everybody, except the dealer, should feel good when this is done.I offer three choices: Good, Fast, & Cheap.
