On Ebay there are several sellers that market a huge slew of tig consumables, collet bodies, collets, ceramics etc. for what seems like a rediculously low price.  They have sold a lot of these kits.  Do these consumables give the same performance as those manufactured here, or do you get what you pay for?Miller Syncrowave 250Miller ThunderboltMiller 211Hypertherm Powermax 30
Reply:I have been satisfied with the ones I have bought, several orders.   Not on par with OEM, but they do just fine for the price.   Sent from my SCH-I545 using TapatalkTiger Sales:  AHP Distributor    www.tigersalesco.comAHP200x; AHP 160ST; MM350P,  Spoolmatic 30A; Everlast PowerTig 185; Thermal Dynamics 60i plasma.  For Sale:  Cobra Mig 250 w/ Push-pull gun.  Lincoln Wirematic 250

Reply:To me if I was suppling a shop full of guys and equipment I might consider it. For home small shop, I would not. You could buy some and try it and see how they hold up.
Reply:They work fine for me. I would love to support the local market but I live in a small town and we only have metal and gas supplies. Jo welding supplies other then the odd MIG tip or lense, arc rods and spools of wire. So if I want a tig or plasma consumable I'm sending one with the truck and normally it is wrong or takes just as long as shipping or no part at allAirco Heliweld II AC/DC HomeMade Wire FeederLincoln 255PLincoln HD130Everlast PP804x8 CNC TableWelding helps me build my hobbies and takes up time on the side.
Reply:The only difference (my opinion) you will see is the gas lens. The screws are different from say Ck to another manufacture. If you put it side by side you can tell, but welding wise I don't think it's noticeable. Someone complained saying how the imported one didn't work as well and send over some pictures of them side by side. Personally I thought it looked better, but to each their own.But what do I know. I just sell the stuff.Torchmate 2x2 CNC with Flashcut CNC controlsHypertherm Powermax45 Esab ET220i Razorweld 195 MigRazorweld 200ac/dc TigTormach 770, Tormach xstechRazorweld, Vipercut/Vipermig, SSC Foot Pedal Dealer
Reply:Warning: the china gas lenses are complete crap! They provide horrible shielding. I had to chuck a box of 10 because they would cause stainless welds to gray.My favorite gas lens cups are from china though.CK gas lenses are awesome, any other parts are fine from chinaland.Welding/Fab Pics: www.UtahWeld.com

Reply:I use the machined brass CK collets. They aren't used to transfer current like a split collet, so they don't really heat up and deform. They last a very long time.http://www.rapidwelding.com/images/o...dgeCollets.pngWelding/Fab Pics: www.UtahWeld.com
Reply:Yep the wedge collet is supposed to be much better. When the angle changes it's time to change those.I like the fact that they don't transfer current however there is a better collet out there (per the literature)I just got some ck reverse collets for testing and if they do everything CK says I won't go with anything else.Torchmate 2x2 CNC with Flashcut CNC controlsHypertherm Powermax45 Esab ET220i Razorweld 195 MigRazorweld 200ac/dc TigTormach 770, Tormach xstechRazorweld, Vipercut/Vipermig, SSC Foot Pedal Dealer

Reply:Tellurium is added to make copper easier to machine btw, I wouldnt be surprised if all collets are tellurium copper since copper is so hard to machine.Last edited by MikeGyver; 03-23-2014 at 02:53 PM.Welding/Fab Pics: www.UtahWeld.com
Reply:A greater amount of copper consumables may be made with Tellurium(Terri-lium Ha Ha!), the cheap stuff as this Miller article describes still can be made from standard grade copper.http://www.millerwelds.com/resources...zles-backcaps/Weld like a "WELDOR", not a wel-"DERR" MillerDynasty700DX,Dynasty350DX4ea,Dynasty200DX,Li  ncolnSW200-2ea.,MillerMatic350P,MillerMatic200w/spoolgun,MKCobraMig260,Lincoln SP-170T,PlasmaCam/Hypertherm1250,HFProTig2ea,MigMax1ea.
