Went to fire up my Weldanpower 225 B/S IC, this morning and after a few revs of the starter, it just stopped. Turns out, the starter grabbed a magnet and ground to a stop. It has been sitting all summer but had the cover on it so I guess it was just time. Anyone know where I can find a starter? It doesnt have a part number on it and I cant find the model number of the engine. Anyone know where they hid the engine number?I just found this form and like all the good info. Thanks for any help with my issue.TRa
Reply:#s should be stamped on the shroud or air cooling housing. Go to a B&S dealer. You can re glue the magnet back in, but its easier to get another starter.DavidReal world weldin. When I grow up I want to be a tig weldor.
Reply:If that engine number is truly gone and the B&S dealer can't match the starter without an engine number, you can often find out what engine model Lincoln used by calling their customer service. They will need the code number from the welding machine.Good Luck, Bob
Reply:I believe that Dixie electric, sells an aftermarket starter for that engine.http://www.dixie-electric.com./index.html |
