Sincro Welder Problem

Hi, I have a Harrison Spitfire welder generator, which I bought second hand a couple of years ago. Its a Yanmar diesel engine with a Sincro EW200DC welder/generator attached.  It has been working perfectly but this morning while I was welding I got a sudden drop in welding power.  The engine is running as normal, I presume the generator side is working fine as power tools seem to work the same as normal, but the welder is now very feeble on all power settings- far too weak to possibly use.  Im not very bright when it comes to electrics, but I took the top off to see if I could see anything obvious, and everything looked ok to me other than if you compare this pic of a new rectifier bridge:-http://www.geargb.co.uk/product/5011..._3003052100400Mine is missing the round blue "thing" (is it a diode?) from the centre left edge of the pic- There are two soldered ends where it used to be but nothing between them.  Could this be the cause of my problem or does anyone have any other ideas?  Thanks very much, Matt
