1917 HENDEY 12" x 5' LATHE For Sale - $750

I am going to sell the 1917 12 x 5 Hendey tiebar lathe that I inherited from my dad. I just brought it to my place in August but I am cramped for space and already have 2 other good lathes. I have only run this lathe a couple of times but everything seems to be in good working order. It has a 1-1/2 HP single phase motor and a 4 speed transmission/gear reducer. There is only one thing that may need adjusted, the spindle seems a hair tight but it spins fine under power. It just doesn't "free wheel" when you spin it by hand. I have never fooled with adjusting the Hendey bearing design and I would think it could be loosened up if desired. Dad ran it this way for over 20 years. It comes with 3 and 4 jaw chucks. $750. Reply:The transmission has 4 speeds plus the 10.4-1 backgear, so you have 8 speeds on each step of the cone.  4 steps so you have a total of 32 speeds.
