Anyone have one of these they can offer a review on ?I'm looking for a Tig welder for light duty work in the range of 200Amps or so.I'm leaning toward an invertig by HTP but came across this  http://www.weldfabulous.com/p-91073-...r-trolley.aspxThe other options of course would be a Syncrowave 210.  Water cooled would be nice.I've opted out of the Everlast brand based on some feedback in the forums here.Of course there is the option of used equipment, but that is just a matter of luck and time.
Reply:I have the DC only version of that machine, I got it for a pretty good price, ~$800 new/demo model. Very nice machine, well-built, easy to use. Compact, although obviously the AC/DC w/cooler is larger. Sips power. Torch is a bit large, but works well. Mine came with the torch with integrated button, I'm not sure if my model will run a pedal or not. Pedals are CAN bus. This is my first TIG machine, and first time TIG welding, but the machine has been a joy to use so far.

Reply:thank you all.  From all my research they seem like solid units.  I was going to go inexpensive, but keep hearing horror stories about the green and black machines.  The blue and red seem the gold standard, but out of my price range.  I'm torn between the ESAB and the HTP.  The heliarc seems like a contender as well now.  I'll have to add it to my excel sheet for pros and cons.  I read some review on the AHG alpha tig on here, but not too much feedback as of yet.  Heck, its lets expensive than my Miller 30A !
Reply:That 220 amp Esab is as good as it gets from anyone, I have welded with it, but only with a button control. You are not taking a back seat to anyone on the quality of that machine..  HTP has a lot of value, and seems to have real good support. It would be on my list for sure. Probably would spring for the 280 amp Esab Inverter if I was going to get another tig unit..Esab/Lorch ET-220iEsab 160i caddyThermal LM-200 Lincoln feedersThermal Pee-Wee 85sThermal 60i- 3phase /RPC powered (Beast)Thermal Drag-gun 35CINE 1500 Klutch 140i
Reply:ESAB offers a 100 day money back guarantee on all their machines.   Gotta be pretty confident in your products to do that.   Sent from my SCH-I545 using TapatalkTiger Sales:  AHP Distributor    www.tigersalesco.comAHP200x; AHP 160ST; MM350P,  Spoolmatic 30A; Everlast PowerTig 185; Thermal Dynamics 60i plasma.  For Sale:  Cobra Mig 250 w/ Push-pull gun.  Lincoln Wirematic 250
Reply:I've got the 2200 DC machine as well. I wish I got the AC/DC version. Paid 460 for the foot pedal which is my only real complaint. I went out and got a CK torch and just yanked the gas fitting off the factory torch but as was mentioned it would be a bit difficult to convert or even find that fitting in the states. It's a 1/4" bsp btw. The other thing is the pulse settings are not in percentages like people keep talking about. I literally set seconds at primary current and seconds at background current. Background current is also not a percentage so if you are trying to use settings like Jody's rule of 33 it will take some converting. Other than that, it's great starts in tig and stick, it's butter smooth and will run full tilt on a 16 amp breaker all in a package the size of a small shoe box.Mine was made in Poland.NickESAB CaddyTig 2200iPowermax 45MM140 (Sold)
Reply:The AC/DC model I looked at/used was made Sweden. It probably was a earlier made unit though. My polish Esab's match the quality of the Sweden made ones. (IMO) 1600 Plasma is awesome built quality, and parts used.Esab/Lorch ET-220iEsab 160i caddyThermal LM-200 Lincoln feedersThermal Pee-Wee 85sThermal 60i- 3phase /RPC powered (Beast)Thermal Drag-gun 35CINE 1500 Klutch 140i
