I just got the Weld-Pak 155 it has the mig attachment and also the gas. Will this weld 2x1 steel square tubing?  Or what would be the biggest it could weld? Thanks
Reply:What thickness?Me!
Reply:Not sure, what thickness do you think I can get away with using that welder?
Reply:1/4" on a good day with a skilled operator. There should be a chart on the panel inside the door.  Its pretty accurate.Your gonna like it.DavidReal world weldin.  When I grow up I want to be a tig weldor.
Reply:I've done both 1/4" steel and 1/8" aluminum with a Weld-pak 155 set up for MIG, with good results. On the aluminum, I had to use the highest setting.   1/4" steel, setting 'D' for butt welds & 'E' for fillet. There are no small projects
Reply:I repair antique cast iron posts with a 155 and .045 corcast 8600. It has to be cranked, but does excellent work. I also use it on 1 X2 rectangular tubing as well as 1" and 1/2 inch, also on 1" and 1/2 solid bar as well. 1/4 X 4 X 4 angle, 3" sched 40 pipe you name it. Now if it just had 100% duty cycle, lol, but that's why I am hunting a cv power supply for my ln-25.The difference between art and craft is the quality of the workmanship. I am an artist.
