I am new to TIG (have only used a TIG torch 3 times) and I have a three questions.1.  At what PSI do you consider your AR bottle 'empty' and take it in for a refill? What AR PSI should I stop welding at?2.  I was not careful enough about where I set my torch down yesterday and I accidentally melted some crud onto the ceramic cup. What is the best method of cleaning ceramic cups?  Can I use acetone or will that damage the ceramic?3.  I noticed that my tungsten is turning deep blue after a weld or two, what causes this and is it a problem?  FYI: I was using 1/16" 2% lanthanated, 20cfh of 100% AR, welder set to 130A DC using a foot pedal, welding 1/8" steel to 3/16" h.r.s. with the millscale removed and wiped with acetone. Here is one of my welds from yesterday, I cleaned it with a wire brush after it had cooled:Thanks for the help.
Reply:Most of the time you can weld the bottle near empty...you'll know when your argon is low, acts very different.Usually the cups are consumables...toss it once damaged.Blue tungsten usually is not of gas flow or too high amperage....personally 130 is too high for that 1/16". I try 90-100 amps on 1/8" steel, 15-20cfh
Reply:Thanks Rick
