Anybody use or have experience with Maxal 4943 mig wire? Going to be doing an aluminum trailer build soon and just heard about this stuff. Always used 4043 before because I had some trouble with 5356 cracking and also didn't like all the black to clean up. Just wondering if anyone used it and knows how it will work.Yeah, I know, but it'll be ok!Lincoln Square wave 255Miller Vintage mig30a spoolgunThermal Dynamics Pacmaster 100xl plasmaSmith mc torchEllis 1600 band saw

Reply:J, do a search there is a thread about 4943. I've used the tig filler and love the stuff. It wets like butter
Reply:I was also always told where 4943 really shines above 4043 is in Fillet welds...great increase I'm strength.Sent from my XT1080 using TapatalkAWS 17.1, D1.1 and ASME IX (GTAW)Miller Syncrowave 350LX, Maxstar 150sth, Maxstar 200DX and Millermatic 252 w/ Spoolmatic 30aMiller buzz box with Lincolin TombstoneThermal Dynamics Cutmaster 38
Reply:I did a search but only came up with one thread on availability with some trial runs and not much else. I was hoping someone had done some projects and used it to see if it really is as it says. I've been around enough that I don't trust new stuff til it proves itself.Yeah, I know, but it'll be ok!Lincoln Square wave 255Miller Vintage mig30a spoolgunThermal Dynamics Pacmaster 100xl plasmaSmith mc torchEllis 1600 band saw

Reply:Yes. It flows as nice or better than 4043 and is considerably stronger. I wets even better with high speed pulse.I demoed Miller's MM350-P with 4943 .045 and was convinced right away of the benefits. However I have no jobs for 4043 or 4943 mig. But I am using quite a bit of 4943 tig rod.Whether or not it cracks is worth buying a sample spool to find out I think.Weld like a "WELDOR", not a wel-"DERR" MillerDynasty700DX,Dynasty350DX4ea,Dynasty200DX,Li ncolnSW200-2ea.,MillerMatic350P,MillerMatic200w/spoolgun,MKCobraMig260,Lincoln SP-170T,PlasmaCam/Hypertherm1250,HFProTig2ea,MigMax1ea. |
