What Scotchbrite style belts is everybody using? I've been breaking a handful of the knockoffs from Mcmaster Carr. They are being used on a Makita 3 x 24 sander, and all is fine until it starts to chatter just a bit, and they immediately break right down the center of the taped/glued seam. The tape just splits, and they merely come apart at the seam (no tearing or anything). They are being used to clean mill scale off of full sheets of 5052 aluminum. Am I going to see better results from the genuine 3M deal? Anybody successfully repaired these without wasting very much time with them?Who is John Galt? |
