I have been looking for some 2" hitch balls ( cheep $$$ ) for a month or two. HF $8.99 no I will keep looking. Well yesterday at a Wal-Mart about 60miles south of Ocala.... Bingo !!!! $4.88 each....the last 4.. I now have to just weld them on, with some help on getting the table up I should be good to go,any input would help..
Reply:Very clever and inexpensive. Good luck
Reply:That idea took some balls!
Reply:Do they make the scraping noise on the floor?
Reply:No. when I weld them on the legs I put a pice of 3/16 under the ball and then weld, that way the balls won't drag when I move the table..
Reply:Maybe no big deal, but putting the balls directly under the table legs would be more stable as there would be no side loading. Weld a nut plate on and you could still crank the balls up and down with a wrench.
Reply:Great idea. I just used some 7/8" diameter threaded bolts that have 1 1/2" hex heads on them. Works great, but doesn't look nearly as cool as your idea.Lincoln Power Mig 216Lincoln AC/DC-225/125Miller 625 X-Treme PlasmaMiller 211 Forney 95FI-A 301HF 91110Victor Journeyman O/PMilwaukee DaytonMakita Baileigh NRA Life Member |
