Reply:Used several of 33# spools of it ran ok, been using dual shield 710x with CO2 .045 yesterday & today, like it better, has a wider sweet spot. On T-1 we run nothing but Hobart Formula XL-8NiI .045 C25.Last edited by Old Skool; 04-03-2014 at 02:18 PM.
Reply:I like it, I have used co2 and 75-25 and prefer co2 for this type of wire . The Lincoln equivalent to this is good as well but quite a bit more money in my case .Miller xmt304, Miller S22 p12, Miier Maxstar SD, Miller 252 w 30A, Miller super32p12, Lincoln Ranger 9, Thermal Arc 181I with spoolgun, Hypertherm 10000 ,Smith torches. Reply:I've ran just the regular the 7100 ultra and it ran like butter. It is one on my favorite dual shield wires. I'm not sure about the dual shield II tho?Ya gotta spend money to make money!
Reply:I'm pretty sure its "II".I'll double check though. So it should be run on co2??All I've got is C25 and 100% argon.~JohnJust a couple welders, big hammers, grinders, and torches.Work will free you.Men in dirty jeans built this country, while men in clean suits have destroyed it. Reply:I had a roll of .035" a long time ago. I got it because the LWS made a mistake and ordered the wrong wire. I believe if you look it up that it calls for straight co2. I can't say much about how well it runs since it was my first roll of dual shield. I've used a lot of the 7100 since then and like it well enough.Millermatic 252XMT 304'sDynasty 280DXHypertherm PowerMax 1250Miller Trailblazer 302 EFIOptima PulserXR feeder and XR Edge gun and more athttp://members.dslextreme.com/users/waynecook/index.htm
Reply:So I'll need to pickup a bottle of co2???Or will C25 suffice???~JohnJust a couple welders, big hammers, grinders, and torches.Work will free you.Men in dirty jeans built this country, while men in clean suits have destroyed it. Trump/Carson 2016-2024
Reply:According to this you need co2 to get the full potential. http://www.esabna.com/us/en/products...roductCode=241 That was one of the reasons I wasn't happy about receiving it the first time. At the time I was going to use it with my MM200 I had and I only had C25 setup with it. But currently I used straight co2 with all my dual shield just because it's cheaper.Millermatic 252XMT 304'sDynasty 280DXHypertherm PowerMax 1250Miller Trailblazer 302 EFIOptima PulserXR feeder and XR Edge gun and more athttp://members.dslextreme.com/users/waynecook/index.htm

Reply:Related, ESAB's Dual Shield 710X-M with C25 shielding is bad@$$ on heavy metal. Ran her in .045 a few times via my Miller S52E Wire Feeder and she's hot "Discovery is to see what everybody else has seen, and to think what nobody else has thought" - Albert Szent-Gyorgyi
Reply:The first runs ever using 710X-M .045 with C25 (45CFH) on 18in sections of 1/4" x 2" x 2" angle. Flat position. Root passes. XMT304 and 74DX feeder set to 23.5V @ 275 ipm. 0.5sec pre/post-flow. Slag dusted off post-weld. Challenging to maintain near-identical bead profiles for passes # 2 and #3. Going for an axial spray profile. All pulls. Need more training....Note: images need 90deg CW rotation for as-welded position.
