I am new to this forum and have a question on my Lincoln 180C. I was in school this last quarter taking welding and could not continue this quarter due to work. I am going to have to learn as I go from here on out. I just bought a Lincoln 180C from praxair at a great price. I unpacked it tonight and found that the torch is a real cheap looking POS. It might work well, but I figure I would like to upgrade this soon. Are there any upgrade torches for this welder? The Lincoln website doesn't specify. In school we used tweco's, and I found them to be good quality. The lincoln used a plastic end in place of the nozzle for FCAW. I cant see that lasting long. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
Reply:that gun is a very good gun for that machine. you can use the gas nozzle for flux cored welding as most people do. profax does make a 180 amp gun that will work on this machine but i would recommend sticking with the factory gun i have sold dozens of these machines and have never had gun problems.
Reply:I had the Lincoln gun, I think it was a 100, I got a bernard Q gun for mine, I like it much better, it has centerfire technology. I had the SP175Plus.I would recommend the Bernard.Guy_48Welding is an art......Millermatic 252Lincoln SP175PlusLincoln 225 AC/DC
Reply:I guess if you compare the gun to what you learned to weld with the gun would look cheap. It does what it is supposed to do for the type/class welder it is. Just curious what upgrades would you want? The plastic tip is consumable. Better than messing up diffuser threads. |
