I did this can with 4943 and it welded very nice, much better than the 4043 I had been using since the first can....I did weld one with 5356 which Terry recommended and it welded nice also.....http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v9...psyaesrlfq.jpgLast edited by B_C; 04-23-2014 at 11:17 PM. Reply:Still amazed on how you make a can weld look so good. I can't get a ripple/bead appearance on them.Torchmate 2x2 CNC with Flashcut CNC controlsHypertherm Powermax45 Esab ET220i Razorweld 195 MigRazorweld 200ac/dc TigTormach 770, Tormach xstechRazorweld, Vipercut/Vipermig, SSC Foot Pedal Dealer

Reply:Turn the heat down to 50 or so and use a 040 red tungsten sharpened to a point....1/16 filler and keep the filler under the heat of the tungsten and keep moving.....Tack in two spots 180 apart wash the cans out and dry on your stove.....clean the weld areas with scotch brite wipe down with acetone.....punch a hole in the bottom of one can first....... Reply:never had much luck repairing Aluminum Rims......Unless you have a way to bring back the Hardness your kinda wasting your time since they get annealed when you weld on them.....Just my opinion Miller Dynasty 350Twenty Six HammersThree Crow BarsBig Rock
