Anyone own a Trailblazer 251?

I have a shot at getting a 251 with a bad circuit board (so they say).  The unit has 1256 hours on the meter.  Would that be considered excessive or not so much....the unit looks like it has normal aging and wear and tear for its age.  I do not have all the info yet but it looks like it could be a 1997.  I still need to get the serial number to nail the year.I may be able to get the welder and factory Miller cart for just a few hundred dollars.  Unless I am reading the manual wrong it says this machine will stick, mig and tig.  Here is the manual link:  http://www.millerwelds.com/om/o485d_mil.pdfHas anyone had to replace a failed circuit board on one of these?  Looks like Ebay has them for around 200 to 300 bucks.I like the fact that it is portable and will allow 3 different processes, would this be something to look into, I do have pretty decent mechanical ability and can read a wiring schematic.Any help is greatly appreciated.
Reply:Find out as much as you can about the pcb failure. Then call Miller and ask them if this would be a one or two pcb repair. Some model trail blazer's when the power pcb fails it take out the control pcb also. Change the wrong pcb and you will damage the new pcb and Miller will not warranty the pcb. To get a miller parts warranty you will have to have a Miller authorized shop install the pcbs.Tell miller you are looking to buy this welder NOT that you are fixing it.(yet). You are just trying to figure out if the repair is a good idea. depending on how low the purchase price is. Try to get the serial number. This will help them know which machine and how old you are asking about.
Reply:Yes, I have one.  As far as 1200 hours goes, it depends on how well it has been maintained.  But 1200 hours with average maintenance is not bad.  The 251's seem to be notorious for toasting circuit boards.  Just do a search on this forum and you'll see how many pop up with the same issue.  I don't know why.
Reply:The main PCB on a 251 NT I just repaired was north of $1400. It ended up being some bad connector plugs that had arced and burned. Reply:Should be near free, as circuit board repairs are expensive. Mine welds fine. It has been down a couple of times, but the repairs were always cheap.
