I'm looking to buy a mitering bandsaw. Some models I'm considering: kalamazoo h235, kama ev996, ACCURA 01079VS, and anything similar.Does anyone have a saw like this? Can you make any recomendations? How well do these types work on stainless?Ian TannerKawasaki KX450 and many other fine tools
Reply:If you can swing it, definitely get a swivel head. Much better than the angle vise type. We have a Wellsaw 1316S, and it is fantastic!
Reply:Hyd-mec dm 10 is a real nice saw.thermal arc mst400, va4000 feeder, lincoln 175 min, victor torches, miller s32p feeder, air arc k4000 for work.
Reply:Ellis Made in the USAMy name's not Jim....
Reply:I've been driving myself crazy with trying to find the right bandsaw for myself. I don't need anything huge or really expensive, but I do want a good quality horizontal bandsaw that miters for under or around $2,000, if possible. I was looking at some non-miter models for around $700-$1,500, but I'm not sure of the quality or features that I would need or if I even need a mitering bandsaw. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Reply:Oops, I did know that. I meant, why spend the extra money to get a swivel head one instead of one that doesn't swivel? The only reason I can think of is that with the swivel one you can cut a long piece and not have it get in the way or hit other things that might be around the shop or garage. I'm not sure what brand to go with either. I was looking at a Jet J-3130 dry cut  saw that's around $1,000, I think. I was also looking at all other manufacturer's model such as the Nothern Industrial 7x12 bandsaw, but I would prefer to stay around $1,200 for a decent one if possible. I would go higher if I had to so I could get a quality band saw that will continue to meet my needs as my needs grow.

Reply:Woops, sorry. Haha I figured it was pointless to start a new thread about bandsaws when there was this one already in existence.
Reply:Sorry about posting a new thread. But it seems that new threads get more attention. I've been waiting until I move to a new shop, which necessarily will be soon. Thanks for your help, again. Does anyone with any type of bandsaw have any comments about stainless? Blade type or brand recommendations for SS?Ian TannerKawasaki KX450 and many other fine tools
Reply:We generally cut stainless, carbon, aluminum, copper, whatever on the same saw with the same blades. Our saw is water cooled. Stainless cuts a little slower.
