Aluminum welding table?

Today dad called me into his office, said he had a build in mind for me (theres a long list now) he said he wanted some good ramps built for pulling trailers in and out of semis. We have this odd piece of 3/4in aluminum that we've been using but its not wide enough and trailers slide off the sides if they dont track right or not centered right. I asked dad what he was going to do with the old ramp and he said he was going to sell it for scrap unless I could use it. I was thinking of cutting the short side off and making a welding table that either bolts to a steel frame or build an aluminum frame. I wanted you guys opinion on it if it worth it or not. Cause my 3x6 expanded metal table is on its last leg.
Reply:I am sure a lot would say no but if it is not worth scrap price to use as a table I don't know what is. I would just use it as a quick table as is in the bed of the truck or tossed up on saw horse.

Reply:I like that idea.  It would stiffen the top and not have bolts directly into the top.
