thinking of selling my 97 dodge diesel 2500 reg. cab 4x4,flatbed. i think i would rather buy a dually 4x4 or even trade for one.minehas new auto trans 500 miles ago 198,xxx miles runs great no problems at all let me know if you might be interested. Reply:Farmall is right Dually Conversions are pretty easy, If you check out www.cumminsforum.com i bet you will be able to find someone that will trade you a dually banjo for your single wheel axle. One thing you need to check on is GVW, you will still have the GVW requirements associated with the 2500s vin number. My 95 reg cab long bed 2500 Cummins has an 8800gvw (yours is the same) and tips the scales at 6700lbs empty with 30 gallons of fuel in the tank, so watch your weight if you are going to throw a welder and leads and etc... on the bed. A 3500 vin on the other hand would be tied to an 11,000lb GVW. Reply:I only say this because that truck looks like it is pretty solid, has a new tranny and not too too many miles, one last thought is just some wider tires, i have 12.50w tires on my truck with an extra leaf and air bags and she tows a 10,500lb trailer with no problems.
