Holy cow are the prices crazy around here. If you are selling anything that can make an arc, bring it here and sell it for twice as much, maybe more. Right now there's...A Hobart Tigmate... for $1900.A Miller Sync 250... for $4200.An ancient Miller AB/P for $1250.A Dialarc for $1000.A Lincoln Precision TIG 275 for $3200.Another Sync 250 for $4300.A freakin' Chinese unit for $1800. And more. People seem to think that the original MSRP is a just a starting point for their old welder. I'm glad I'm not really shopping for one, although it still makes me a little sick to hear what some of you are paying elsewhere. I'm thinking about the opportunity to start an 'import' business, though.__David Hillman
Reply:Dang the, I could make a killing at those prices. the ABP is probably the best deal of all of them if it has the full tig setup with torch pedal and cooler... I could have bought half a dozen Syncro 250 locally for under $600 a pop if I had the money.Tiger Sales: AHP Distributor www.tigersalesco.comAHP200x; AHP 160ST; MM350P, Spoolmatic 30A; Everlast PowerTig 185; Thermal Dynamics 60i plasma. For Sale: Cobra Mig 250 w/ Push-pull gun. Lincoln Wirematic 250

Reply:$600 is a fair price. though you really need a water cooled torch if you plan on using the 450+ amp TIG capacity on that machine... I got a cooler for sale Heh!Tiger Sales: AHP Distributor www.tigersalesco.comAHP200x; AHP 160ST; MM350P, Spoolmatic 30A; Everlast PowerTig 185; Thermal Dynamics 60i plasma. Reply:only been looked at. what does that meani think its your ad and your full of itLast edited by ed mac; 08-30-2011 at 09:47 PM.
Reply:If it was my ad, I wouldn't be mocking it, nor saying things like you can buy an Econotig for 25% of that price. And I sure as hell wouldn't be posting it in one of the few places where everyone knows that, weldingweb.com. But think whatever you want if it makes you happy, Ed.__David Hillman

Reply:Them welders been on there forever. Guess can't blame a guy for trying.Every so often you'll find a deal on the Chicago list...somebody wanting to get something out of the way in the garage so he can park his Mercedes. Reply:I been looking at the same ads OP mentioned on CL, not that I'm in the market, just curious. They are a bit optimistic in the starting $. I've seen the same for machine tools (mills, lathes) and the ads are just sitting. I think some of these guys are plain stubborn. That's when I bought my Maxstar a couple of years ago from LWS, didn't mind paying full price for a new machine w/ warranty as the used welders weren't worth it.
Reply:Another Tigmate today... just $1000 for this one! What a deal!__David Hillman
