I have just bought a older LN-9. can i run this off a gas powered welder like a ranger. any info would help . please e mail me at [email protected]   matthew
Reply:Yes, it needs a cable to connect to the machine. I don't know if its 6 pin or 14, but the ranger has both.I have an LN9-GMA.  Love it.DavidReal world weldin.  When I grow up I want to be a tig weldor.
Reply:thanks. This may sound dumb but i am going to try to use a 3 phase miller bobcat. We have to weld 22 truck frames and they require us to use 1/16 flux wire. I used these years ago in a fab shop but we had them connected to dc-600.  Has any used a LN-9 with a miller power supply?

Reply:Well, you can try since it needs 115Vac to operate, though it allso happens to need to know if the power source is live or not, which it won't know, as you have no remote facilities on a Bobcat.Seems like overkill to use that particular feeder, Better off with a suitcase feeder, like an Extreme 12VS, T-dyne cc/cv, Lincoln LN-25, ESAB Mobilemaster cc/cv.
Reply:Your original question asked if it would run off a ranger.  It will.  I don't know about a miller.  An LN-9 needs a control cable.  It will not plug into the Miller.  You can send a note to Lincoln or call them and ask.  LN-9 is a nice feeder.DavidReal world weldin.  When I grow up I want to be a tig weldor.
