i have a weldanpower 225 g7 (b&s) model # 402445 the welder wont go to high idle when i try to weld i must manually put it on high idle. not sure but i think theres a proble with the idler board  ( WP-225 g7 idler/charger)   we cant test any of the components , theres a clear coating on the board keeping us from making contact, cant seem to get it off....any 1 have any ideas with this problem or how 2 fix it? i bought the welder around 1987-88 ?
Reply:I have the same machine, the same age.  I found the connections dirty at the output terminals  causing this problem.  This is where the sensor leads are.David Real world weldin.  When I grow up I want to be a tig weldor.
