Soo, My new toy FINALLY showed up today. This is the WHOLE reason I have been getting my garage setup with tools and welding equipment! My next project is to take this.Remove this...Build all new piping for my new high pressure turbo, low pressure turbo and get my compounds up and running!!Here is the new charger. Still waiting on my low pressure to show up. 1973 Lincoln SA 200, Already replaced shunt coils, Idle board (SOLD)1984 Miller Dialarc 250HF, Miller water cooler, 250 AMP water cooled torch, you know the worx.

Reply:lots of boost lots of fun until this happens I always wanted to put twins on my dodge, but never did it. I then got rid of the truck maybe someday can get another. this engine wasn't mine its an internet picture Attached ImagesLast edited by idacal; 04-24-2014 at 09:09 PM.Do not argue with an idiot. Reply:You want to make over 1000hp with a ~700hp capable turbo? won't the GTX3582R choke it off since it only flows 75lb/min?That's a gas truck right? Why do you need compound turbo's to make like <20psi? sounds like a lot of work for little gain to me.Last edited by MikeGyver; 04-25-2014 at 02:10 AM.Welding/Fab Pics: www.UtahWeld.com

Reply:Stock rods are not the issue with the 6.0. The bottom end is VERY stout in these trucks. Many people have sprayed to way over 1000 on stock bottom end. The stock charger on the 6.0 flows nowhere near 75lbs/min. Lol. The setup I have in it now puts it at 633 to the wheels backed up with track times.1973 Lincoln SA 200, Already replaced shunt coils, Idle board (SOLD)1984 Miller Dialarc 250HF, Miller water cooler, 250 AMP water cooled torch, you know the worx.

Reply:Been a while since I updated. Injectors and twin pumps should be here hopefully friday. I picked up my mock up motor last week. Everything except for the fuel system plate that Paul is fabricating for me is here for the fuel system, and I finally got my LP charger. Just waiting until the 20th of this month for my water to air CAC to come off back order so I can get it ordered along with all the rest of the bends and piping I need to mock up the turbos. Here are a couple pics of the chargers and the fuel pump/filter mount that Paul is building me (ZTFAB). Pieces cut. Being fabbed up. Paul is trying a couple different ways of doing this so that is why one plate is MIG'd and the other two are TIG'd. Here are some pics showcasing Paul's work! Excellent job buddy. And here are the turbos. GTX3582R and GTX5518R. Next update will hopefully be when I get some piping mocked up!1973 Lincoln SA 200, Already replaced shunt coils, Idle board (SOLD)1984 Miller Dialarc 250HF, Miller water cooler, 250 AMP water cooled torch, you know the worx.

Reply:Been a while since I updated. Been making some slow progress. Still waiting on a bunch of parts but figured I could get some stuff done while I wait. So first I tried to figure out where the turbos were going to be mounted. I wanted to do both in the valley but that just wasn't possible due to how massive my LP is. Seriously this thing is insane. This is where the LP charger will sit when it's all done. The hp will sit in the valley but a little differently than how it is in this pic. Now before anyone says anything about the welding on the manifold you need to know I didn't do it. My buddy did and it was his first time welding on cast aluminum. Even though the welds look not the greatest they hold up well to the abuse. Lol. I finally got my mock up motor assembled, then started playing with where the HP turbo will sit and how to mount it. Built the hp mount and added some other parts from my engine so I could figure out piping and clearance dimensions and order the proper boots, bends, etc. That about wraps it up for now. Stay tuned for more.1973 Lincoln SA 200, Already replaced shunt coils, Idle board (SOLD)1984 Miller Dialarc 250HF, Miller water cooler, 250 AMP water cooled torch, you know the worx.

Reply:Ok, so I'm a moron. And I'm not trying to be a smart ***.But..................... What's the point of pushing all that air into the cylinders without lowering your compression ratio????? Cram a bunch of air in there, and you'll raise the stock compression ratio, and blow crap sky high I'd imagineWhy not just buy a real truck with an engine designed for real pulling??I mean these are PICKUPS with pickup truck tranny's and rear ends. They weren't designed for this kind of upgrade.I laugh when I see the new pickup commercials. "It'll pull 30,000lbs"..........yeah,, for how long??Anyway, like I said, I'm not trying to be a smartass. Reply:I am wondering why people who increase power using multiple turbochargers and higher boost do not see reality and make a real turbo -compound engine. Post WW2 they were getting inefficiencies of a diesel engine and less than one pound per horsepower. The Wright turbo-compound engine would have had a long career if the gas turbine hadn't taken over.
