Reply:MMJ,Those are some pretty nice looking welds.   I'm curious about one thing though..... On that shank you've got welded to the bucket lip why didn't you wrap the weld around the leading edge (top to bottom)?   Is there a specific reason for leaving that un welded?

Reply:HT2, When you order those shanks from the manufacturer, they are pre-beveled.  I was always taught to only weld where the bevel is on the shank. I think they do it for stress? as in if it was welded all the way around it would break the shank in half when prying on rocks, or heavy stuff.
