about a year ago i bought a swivel head bandsaw for about $500 new.Looked like  a grizzly, but without the name badge.http://www.grizzly.com/products/5-x-...vel-Head/G9742Every thing was frigged up.the magnetic switch was wired for 240V and so would not stay powered on till i pulled a spring out!Motor burnt up within 6 months occasional use.Vice never really workedthere was no bushing or bearing in the top wheel. (remove to grease very regularly)would burn through blades quickly. That covers just about all the functions.broke in a blade one day and cut 50 cuts in 2x2x1/4 angle.no teeth left on blade.Enter the ellis 1800.pulled the crate off and plugged it in.Put a piece of 2x2x1/4 in face down (nice quick release vice)did a cut.took out the starrett square and it was bang on.didnt even need to tension the blade!Think i took 2 hours to put the POS together and get it to cut straight (after throwing away the blade)spent the rest of the day standing on one leg so i could kick myself with the other.waisted a year and $500 + parts.Reckon the ellis will see me out.just my rant. thanks for lookingG
