what size hole is recomended

rather than buy a door for my bobcat, i will make one, i'm doing the hinges now, but I want the pin to be a nice tight fit, but not too tight. so my pins are .390" my drill bits go .390 then next size is .400 even the numbered bits are about the same, i thing 10 thous. is to sloppy, so what would the ideal hole size be? I hate to buy a special ream for one job, any suggestions......
Reply:.010 for a door hinge on a bobcat is nothing..You could just use the .390 and ten to one it will drill oversize anyway..In reality it's only .005 per side and a good dose of grease will be more than enough cushion..You don't want them too tight..All that twisting and banging.........zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a  dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.

Reply:Hey 1awert1,+2 on using the .390 you have. A gentle "wiggle" while thru will expand that hole at least .005. More than adequate "slop". Reply:If it ends up being to tight just stick the pin in drill chuck and take a piece of sand paper or emery cloth and polish it up a bit. You aren't going to remove much but it will probably help it slide in.
