Just purchased this rather large 'old' arbor press, but I just don't know anything about who made it or when. I've posted some photo's with hopes of someone knowing something. Can anyone help me out please... Cheers..Paul Attached Images

Reply:Wow, that thing is a monster! I'd call it Press-zzilla Two names that popped into my head when I saw the "No. 3" were DiAcro and Greenard. But both of those manufactures tend to put their names on their products.

Reply:Yes I have looked on a host of different sites but to no avail. There must be someone out there that has knowledge of such a press. The emblem on it must mean something, but what? I am at a dead end at the moment, but it won't stop me using it and NO, I am still not painting it....I am planning to make my garage a bit larger to accommodate all this extra 'kit' I'm inquiring...Thanks for all the replies, however witty...
Reply:We have one just like it at the shop only BIGGER...I'll take some pics tomorrow.....zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a  dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.
Reply:paint it , it deserves to be prettied up... nice can crusher though.tackleexperts.comwww.necessityjigs.comhttps://www.facebook.com/groups/mach...dingequipment/
Reply:What do you mean it deserves to be prettied up? It's a machine, it deserves to be used. There are those who would rather scrap it than give it shop room, but I'm not one of them, and I don't waste paint unnecessarily...It deserves to look it's age......
Reply:Press Pics..Note the Pat. Reply:Paul, you don't know what you're missing till you've tried it.  Most people I know, including some professionals think that the shop with the clean, freshly painted tools, will do the best work.Personally.If  there are two barbers in a town, I go to the one with the worst hair cut. because he isn't cutting his own hair.same goes to hired out work. if they've got time to clean/paint their tools to like new condition, means they  don't do the work load that the shop thats dirty and old looking does. and if that shop doesn't have the time to do it. it means they've got the reputation that they do good work. otherwise, they wouldn't have so much work.granted on hired out jobs, it's always best to verify quality with the bid. Just because you can polish a turd (proven on mythbusters) doesn't mean I'm going to pay for it when you're done. There are no problems. There are only solutions. It's your duty to determine the right one.Hobart Handler 210Airco 225 Amp MSM Stinger
Reply:Look at zapster's shop, nothing wrong with that or the press. Looks like it's a well used piece of kit, and I like the paint job (looks original).

Reply:I see there's one on e-bay in the UK and its called a toggle press. I've contacted the seller for any info but he knows nothing about it. Its also up for £2000, which I think is a bit adventurous but hey what do I know...
Reply:The press on the left is a Greenard #3 that has had a 6" air cylinder mounted to it. It weighs about 300-350 pounds.I saw a #3 on yours so I doubt that yours is a Greenard #3. Maybe another brand.I am going to mount a 30 ton cylinder on the other press for making damascus steel for knives.I gave the Greenard to a friend of mine. Attached Images
Reply:that press on the right looks like it would be hella stout !        thermal arc 252i  -  millermatic 350P -   miller XMT, cp300ts, 30a 22a feeders, buttload of other millers, handfull of lincolns, couple of esabs  -   Hypertherm 1250 G3
Reply:It is. It is made of 3/4" plate steel. Everything is 3/4".I think it would take a bit to damage it.
