Shoutout to yorkiepap for giving me the motivation to build a stand!I cut a lot of 45*s and different angles, so I decided to make the top table rotate-able. I used four small steel casters and a 1/2" pin to keep it locked in position. It works surprisingly well. Here's the base all welded up.Here's the top tableHere's what will guide the materialI plan on finishing it up in the next few days, just wanted to share what I have so far!

Reply:Looks great. Looking forward to seeing it finished. I like the rotating top
Reply:Nice idea, hope to see the finished project with your stands, etc.  Smart folks here on this forum!"All of this and some of that's the only way to skin the cat!"
Reply:Looks good, but have you thought about dropping the entire saw flush to the table to make handling material easier?"I thank God for all the freedoms we've got in this country, I cherish even the right to burn the flag, but I'll tell you what, we've also got the right to bear arms and if you burn my flag I'll shoot you"-Johnny Cash

Reply:Finished the stand today. Works great. The rollers are conveyor rollers from mcmaster (~$11 each IIRC) They are rated much above what they will ever see. Being able to change the angle this easily is very nice. I am also going to be putting in a few extra tubes on the side of the stand so that when the extended arms are not in use they'll be pulled out and stored vertically so the footprint is smaller. The top is a 3/16" aluminum plate. The rest of it is build out of mostly 2x2 and 1x1. The angle iron on the bottom supports a shelf (not pictured) but it holds the other wooden chop saw when it's not in use. Set up for a 45* cutHere it is set up for a straight cutThere's a locating pin to keep the table from spinningUnderneath - here's what clamps the extended arms in.

Reply:Nice idea and execution! I like how the fence on that Ridgid will go either way. Many saws will only move one direction.GravelThe difference between theory and practice is that in theory there is no difference.
Reply:Congrats on a great project. I may have to cabbage onto your lead. Been thinking of using this type idea for a very similar application as setting my bandsaw to cut angles is a real pain for short runs. I purchased this scissor table to help, but your design appears to be simpler.SlobPurveyor of intimate unparalleled knowledge of nothing about everything.Oh yeah, also an unabashed internet "Troll" too.....
Reply:Thanks for the kind words guys. The stand works great for both the wooden chop saw, and the metal chop saw. If anyone wants dimensions of anything let me know!
Reply:That is slick. Do you have a lot of play due to the 2 sets of casters?Regards,RobGreat Basin WeldingInstagramBlue weldersRed weldersMy luscious Table DIY TIG Torch cooler

Reply:Very nice and great design.
Reply:Update:Stand works great. Used it to do some 45's the other day and it worked perfectly. Unfortunately the 45* marker on the saw is more like a 50* so I'll have to play around with that and drill a hole for a 45* stop pin.
Reply:Exactly what is needed... I finally got to use my Dewalt DW872 and needed to cut a 10' piece and had to reposition everything.  Making a stand with saw able to swivel is a great idea.  I just wish the fence on the Dewalt was better, pretty poor design and it is way off from being square with the table.  Doesn't matter much on square cuts, but really starts to affect angle cuts.  May have to fab a new one or weld on a piece to square it (too much to grind off).GlenMiller Dynasty 200DX - Millermatic 350P - Hypertherm Powermax 45Want to sell!! - Hobart Handler 150
