When it's break time or I need to do something else in the middle of welding I usually put the torch in the hole in the table..Most times it ends up on the floor..So to end that some 1" thin wall tubing and some 1/4" square rod is all that's needed..I would rather have it on the chair rather than the bench..Fits nice and tight and stays put.I don't know why I did not do this a long time ago......zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a  dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.
Reply:Hah, cool!   Now you just need one for the beer on the other side!
Reply:Zap - you weren't lying, that is a nice comfy chair. The torch holder looks like a good idea too. I suppose it's the cobblers' children sort of problem when you're busy making a living
Reply:DanT beat me to the nice comfy chair. Now your all set for intruders, sadly, it's only a single shot.
Reply:Zap, I figured if you had a torch holder it would look more like a holster for a 6-shooter! Nice idea though!GravelThe difference between theory and practice is that in theory there is no difference.

Reply:My torch holder is a spring clamp I clip to the edge of the table then just drape the torch over it.Welding/Fab Pics: www.UtahWeld.com
Reply:zap; after seeing those magnetic torch holders i decided i had to have one but like the look of yours.i.u.o.e. # 15queens, ny and sunny fla
Reply:Cool zap looks good. I just dont like that its attatched to a moving chair. Maybe mounted to the table. Seems no matter what you do they eventually wind up on the floor one way or another.I hate being bi-polar it's awsomeMy Heroes Have Always Been Cowboys

Reply:Cool application.  However, with weldermike on this one.  She would get run over in my shop.My 'holder' is a vintage 4" Armstrong c-clamp.  Goes wherever it needs to go.  TIG cable bight loops around the clamp to hold her steady.  Adaptable for sitting and standing."Discovery is to see what everybody else has seen, and to think what nobody else has thought" - Albert Szent-Gyorgyi
