Whats your favorite helmet to wear ?Mine is a toss between my Fibre Metal tigerhood classic flip front and my lincoln vikingboth very good helmets in there own way and enviromenti mainly use the fibre metal out doors in dirty and harsh conditions while the lincoln gets more mig action in the shopMiller Bobcat 255Hobart 190 and spoolgunLincoln AC 225Lincoln LN-25Rock and Roll hoochie coo
Reply:I bought a miller. For my first hood. Because it was light and the head gear was comfortable. It's there performance model. The auto dark shorted out 8 months after I got it. They replaced. If I could put Miller's head gear in a Viking helmet for my mug welding at work I would.Sent from my SCH-I535 using TapatalkJoe

Reply:My favorite auto-dark is Optrel.  It has a smaller view port but I 'see' more with it.  When a helmet darkens, you can pretty much only see where the arc is anyway.  Its also reasonable for overhead.I have two Millers - Elite and Digital Elite.  They are OK, I'm just not impressed with the green color.  I find that the level I need to see where I'm going is too bright (the arc is too bright).  You must keep the Millers very very clean (lenses).  The other negative on Miller digital elite is that its auto-off and not auto-on.  So every time you drop the hood you should double check if it turned off...  About once a month I seem to flash myself - not a bad flash, but a "time to get a drink and relax for a few minutes" flash - you still have UV protection and some filtering.I'd also pay special attention to the Jackson helmets.  I believe they are blue lens color as well.  If I get an excuss I'd try/buy one of them.Con Fuse!Miller Dynasty 350Millermatic 350P-Spoolmatic 30AMiller Multimatic 200Hypertherm PowerMax 1000G3Miller Maxstar 200DX
Reply:Like my Jackson fixed with the 360 head gear, and a gold mirrored filter. Second is my speedglas 9000, the head gear gets uncomfortable quick though IMO
Reply:Miller Digital Elite though my personal hood is a Miller Digital Performance "64 Custom" model.I remember when we used to custom paint our regular hoods, now they all come pre "Customized"
Reply:I'm rockin an HTP Striker CSV and I really like it.  So long as the plastic lenses are clean, the clarity is great.  I'd love to try out a 3M Speedglass helmet though.  Seems to be at the top of the top, along with Optrel helmets. 1st on WeldingWeb to have a scrolling sig! Reply:I got a free AD helmet with my new thermalarc 211i, but I don't know if I can trust it.I'm now looking at a Lincoln viking 3350. they have a nice very large lens.
Reply:Go to is the pancake with cool blue lens. Second would be speedglas 9100xx but I carry a sugar scoop just in case.Lincoln 305gLincoln 225 tombstone More tools than I can play with at one time
Reply:Mine was my Jackson NexGen, but I bought a HTP Striker, and I use it most of the time.

Reply:3M L-905 with 9100xx ADF - gives me complete coverage.
Reply:I've had my Optrel e680 for over a year now, Clearly  the best I've used. You see colors you've never seen before, not that dull "green" other helmets give you. You'll love it!
Reply:i actually just got a 9100x speedglas and that thing is pretty cool!   the controls are pretty cool too.   ive used it a few times so far and for the money that speedglas sells them for they are worth it.   but i got mine off ebay and for a good deal so that makes it better!!Miller Bobcat 255Hobart 190 and spoolgunLincoln AC 225Lincoln LN-25Rock and Roll hoochie coo

Reply:Kind of like asking what is everyone's favorite drink. It's personal preference, but you won't know if you like it till you try it yourself.     Sent from my SCH-I545 using TapatalkTiger Sales:  AHP Distributor    www.tigersalesco.comAHP200x; AHP 160ST; MM350P,  Spoolmatic 30A; Everlast PowerTig 185; Thermal Dynamics 60i plasma.  For Sale:  Cobra Mig 250 w/ Push-pull gun.  Lincoln Wirematic 250

Reply:Jackson Balder BH3 WH70 has a blue tint if that is what you want.Torchmate 2x2 CNC with Flashcut CNC controlsHypertherm Powermax45 Esab ET220i Razorweld 195 MigRazorweld 200ac/dc TigTormach 770, Tormach xstechRazorweld, Vipercut/Vipermig, SSC Foot Pedal DealerThe Balder is pretty nice but the athermal gold non auto I used after my old ad lens died and before the Balder came made me think the ad stuff isn't strictly necessary at all. The reflectivity of the gold does so much to light the weld. It is light. With good headgear a small nod doesn't cost you much. It's cheap in a huntsman or whatever. What's not to like. I flip the ad one anyway. Maybe the start of the weld is better with the ad.

Reply:Pipeliner with Lincoln Supervisibility lens. Same clarity as a Speedglas to me, for 1/10th of the price. I love the Speedlgas, but $500 for a helmet could be put to much better use in gas and filler rod. "I fully know my place in life, and it's behind a welding helmet...." - Jesse JamesIG: @weldakota
