want to know how many watts my old WeldanPower AC-225/DC-210/6, serial# A1105988, code# 9112 will put out safely and is it usable as a standby generator? Also it no longer re-charges it's battery. I have to keep it on a battery charger to start it.
Reply:Welcome to the forum jd630. Per your unit's Operator's Manual http://content.lincolnelectric.com//...r/im/IM308.pdf that unit produces 6KW (6000 watts) of auxiliary power that can be used however you choose. And here's the Parts Page http://content.lincolnelectric.com//...parts/P138.pdf should you need to identify any required replacement parts. The Additional Parts Page wouldn't load so you may want to try it yourself here http://www.mylincolnelectric.com/Cat...t.aspx?p=32081.As for the unit not charging, if not an open circuit (bad connection or broken wire) I'd suspect a defective ammeter (AM1) or charge voltage regulator in that order. To check the ammeter, disconnect wire #209 from back of ammeter and protect from shorting to ground. With engine running check for voltage at wire #208 at back of ammeter. Voltage at wire #208 at the ammeter indicates proper charge circuit operation and a defective ammeter. Replace the ammeter or connect wire #209 to wire #208 post of the ammeter to bypass the defective unit.No voltage at wire #208 at the ammeter indicates a posible faulty voltage regulator or open circuit between voltage regulator and ammeter.DuaneLast edited by duaneb55; 02-14-2009 at 10:50 PM.Reason: Added charge circuit troubleshootingMM200 w/Spoolmatic 1Syncrowave 180SDBobcat 225G Plus - LP/NGMUTT Suitcase WirefeederWC-1S/Spoolmatic 1HF-251D-1PakMaster 100XL '68 Red Face Code #6633 projectStar Jet 21-110Save Second Base!
Reply:Thanks so much for the information. I would like an owners manual for this machine, but did not find one on the Lincoln web site. Also would like to purchase the correct weather cover for it but did not see that either. Will keep looking. This is an old machine but it does all I need. Thanks so much for the information.
