Yup...hers not mine .  She's been bugging me for a while now for a good cabinet saw, so I got her the best.  It's an Oliver Machinery 10" left hand tilt with 52" extended table and a rear extension as well (neither are attached yet since we need to get the rolling base for it so we can move it around the shop).  As a random point, the digital blade angle guage is dead on, I tested it with my vernier bevel caliper at 10 different angles and they all guaged perfectly.--Wintermute"No man's knowledge here can go beyond his experience." - John Lockewww.improvised-engineering.comManufacturer Agnostic:Blood----------Sweat---------Tears----|------------------|----------------|----Lincoln Red, Miller Blue, Esab Yellow

Reply:Came in at about $3100 all up with free shipping.  I figure the mobile base for it will cost about another $200-$250.--Wintermute"No man's knowledge here can go beyond his experience." - John Lockewww.improvised-engineering.comManufacturer Agnostic:Blood----------Sweat---------Tears----|------------------|----------------|----Lincoln Red, Miller Blue, Esab Yellow

Reply:not snap-on, those are Husky (although I have a bunch of Snap-On stuff, just not what's in that picture).Doesn't have the Saw-Stop system on it...although I like the system, they only put it on their brand saws and the Saw-Stop saws don't have everything the wife wanted --Wintermute"No man's knowledge here can go beyond his experience." - John Lockewww.improvised-engineering.comManufacturer Agnostic:Blood----------Sweat---------Tears----|------------------|----------------|----Lincoln Red, Miller Blue, Esab Yellow
Reply:Nice saw! What kind of projects does she have in mind?Buy American, or don't whine when you end up on the bread line.
Reply:Nice.  I had never seen those before, but that looks like a really nice table saw.  I'm using a nice, accurate digital angle gauge will be convenient.

Reply:Nice saw. The digital readout is great. Happy wife = happy life
Reply:Does she have her own work shop or is she going to take up some of your shop space to do her projects? The material list for those first few projects you mentioned probably won't exceed the price of the saw. I wish I could justify the expense of one to add to my shop. Tell her while she's at it to build two of those router tables, I need one too. The second one almost always comes out better than the first, she can keep the second one.
Reply:We share a shop.  Currently she has the 15x30 upstairs for her lighter equipment, and her heavier equipment is downstairs in the 25x30 area.  All of my equipment is downstairs except for a few non-metal working tools (I don't use any welders, torches, grinders, etc... upstairs since it's a wood floor and I'd probably burn down the shop).  We'll be completely finishing the upstairs this winter, so after that is done it'll be alot nicer and more organizer for her up there.--Wintermute"No man's knowledge here can go beyond his experience." - John Lockewww.improvised-engineering.comManufacturer Agnostic:Blood----------Sweat---------Tears----|------------------|----------------|----Lincoln Red, Miller Blue, Esab Yellow

Reply:Off topic- wintermute, do you or did you ever own a MKIII Toyota Supra? On topic- that's a gorgeous table saw.
Reply:This machine will help her away from back pain. Using table and chair is nice option for such purpose. Usually carpenters do not use them. They work on floors and easily get tired. It will help out her for long sitting. Tell me if you some more such machines?-------------------------------Log Splitter IrelandLast edited by neilandy; 11-04-2011 at 08:42 AM.Reason: want to add more text

Reply:Wintermute,Thanks for posting. The Oliver looks interesting.  Currently use an older Delta Unisaw and a Delta cabinet saw (the lighter, 1 3/4HP model).  Been looking at the Powermatic's.The Oliver looks to be a heavy, well made saw and if up to Oliver standards, I'm sure it's well made.  Were there any particular features that made you go with the Oliver vs the Powermatic or Unisaw's?Syncro 250 DX Dynasty 200 DXMM 251 w/30A SG XMT 304 w/714 Feeder & Optima PulserHH187Dialarc 250 AC/DCHypertherm PM 1250Smith, Harris, Victor O/ASmith and Thermco Gas MixersAccess to a full fab shop with CNC Plasma, Water Jet, etc.
Reply:The primary features were the hydraulic blade lift support (raising the blade is a one finger job on the wheel which is really nice) and the digital angle gauge.  I really dislike having to pull out my vernier bevel caliper to get a nice accurate miter cut and the gauge means I don't have to.  Also, the saw is just really well built, quiet, powerful, accurate, it was packed really nicely into the crate as well.  Pretty much everything I look for in a product.  I had looked at the powermatics since I figured the built in caster system would be nice, but everyone I know who has one says that part broke within a week.  The Unisaws are nice...almost went with an older unisaw, but the features just aren't there and I didn't feel like having to restore yet another piece of equipment.--Wintermute"No man's knowledge here can go beyond his experience." - John Lockewww.improvised-engineering.comManufacturer Agnostic:Blood----------Sweat---------Tears----|------------------|----------------|----Lincoln Red, Miller Blue, Esab YellowOriginally Posted by CosmicRamblerLots of luck there buddy. Reply:The Powermatic 66 is no longer made in the USA?  Ugh... That is a great saw, although, I have a 20 year old Unisaw which has served me well. Originally Posted by wintermuteahh, if only we still made tablesaws in the USA.  It's made in Taiwan.--Wintermute
Reply:Yup, real nice saw, I hope to buy my wife a new MIG and a small CNC plasma table, she don't know it yet, and can't weld so i will probably have to use'em......
