I have a Milwaukee 14" Carbide Blade saw and I am looking for a replacement blade for it. I have looked at several from the Evolution blades, Milwaukee blades and several others. I have also looked at the Diablo blade http://www.ebay.com/itm/FREUD-DIABLO...item35b5844870 Diablo makes great wood working blades but I am not sure about their steel cutting blade. Anyone have any experiance with this blade?
Reply:Hey bhardy,The Freud Diablo 14"/C7/72 blade is the best blade for cutting steel & aluminum I have ever used. Remember, just because it says "ferrous", doesn't mean that you can't cut aluminum or any other metal. I've cut steel, cast steel, aluminum, steel, copper, brass, & some SS tube, although SS requires some lube & a heavy cut feed & will take a toll on these or any other blade. I've been using them for over 6 years & got my boss at my old company to get these for 1/2 the price he was paying for the DeWalt & got 5 times more use from them. With aluminum, I simply just spray a quick shot of WD-40 on the blade & it cuts clean, no burrs, & no buildup on the tung. teeth. I average 1200-1600 cuts before sharpening is needed. IMO, they are the best & many other members here will concur. Attached is the link where I get mine......Dennyhttp://cripedistributingstore.com/in...-blade-ro.htmlComplete Welding/Machine/Fab. Reply:Thanks, I have used the Diablo wood working blades and liked thm alot but have no experience with their metal cutting blades.
Reply:I have a Porter Cable saw  and the factory blade lasted about 10-12 cuts and lost a couple of teeth I bought the same blade your looking at from e-bay and I think it was a three pack thinking I would need them, well two years latter with about 150 cuts and still cutting smoothly I have two blades hanging on the wall. Very happy with the product.
Reply:No telling how many cuts I have gottenout of the factory Milwaukee blade. Been uisng the saw for about 3 years or a little longer. Got to be atleast 500+ cutts mostly square tubing and some pipe. I plan to get this blade resharpened.

Reply:I've been a big fan of the Milwaukees in the past, but this time around I've bought some Diablos to see if the cost savings are worth it.  Bought mine from Cripe Distributing on ebay as well.  I believe the Milwaukees would last nearly indefinitely if not for cutting rectangular tubing where the blade has to eat through two flat spots 1/4" thick or more in some cases.  I'd like to design a vise add-on that holds the tube at a 45 (like a 4-sided diamond in cross-section), that would keep it from going through any substantial horizontal cuts.  Have seen designs like this on bandsaws before.  Tubing is what wears my blades out - they last forever in flat stock, pipe, and angle which can all be locked in the vise to avoid long horizontal cuts.
Reply:Hey tbone,This is the thread I posted a while back that will help you & others get much better results with your dry cut saws & really increase your blade life & a thread of how I cut multiple angles & corner mitres. I have (2) of the saw vise fixtures, one that I screw on to the vise specifically for 1.5" sq. as that is what I cut the most of for the company, & the other is a "floating" angle fixture for any size sq. tube I need to cut. They're both the same, although the floater is w/2" angle. Hope this helps.....Dennyhttp://weldingweb.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=12530Here is the thread for cutting mitres on angle iron with your dry cut saw:http://weldingweb.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=52194Complete Welding/Machine/Fab. Reply:The first thread in your last post is exactly what I'm talking about - getting that tubing into a 45-degree plane in cross-section.  I cut miters in the same way you do in your second thread, except that with my Milwaukee dry-cut I don't need the second piece of angle - the vise by itself is strong enough to prevent camming on up to 4" x 4" angle - haven't tried any larger.
Reply:This just one of the reasons i went to the EVO Rage 3With the slider you can pull it out and begin the cut at the corner then chop down until it has cut through then push back when it hit the flat at the back i bring it up then chop again if i need toI am having to build a small welding bench and will post it when i am done it has the frame of 3X3X3/8 angle that goes around a 1/2 in plate topi need to get one of the blue blades for itBacked my CATMA over your CARMA oops clusmy me  What would SATAN do ?? Reply:How accurate is the mitre settings on the Rage 3? I am not a big fan of the clamping settup on the Milwaukee and it is difficult to get the angles set dead on with out several trial cutts and adjustments.
Reply:I checked the settings on mine against my angle square only for 45 degree cuts and there close enough And the clamping setup on the rage 3 sucks tooBacked my CATMA over your CARMA oops clusmy me  What would SATAN do ?? Reply:I saw this posted somewhere else, someone using a gauge to set the angle. I thought about setting it up with a gauge and marking it so i could right back to it.
