Reply:I just finished a BIG job that I did outside. Last week I was driving out there and it was 13 degrees. I quit at noon. Nice to finish the job in 40 to 50 degree weather. Especially to apply the cold galv. For the last 20 years all I had was a Lincoln G7 weldmanpower 225 for stick welding and gouging. Everytime I needed to stick weld in the shop, I woul fire it up. Now I have a shop welder for stick and gouging. I am also buying a second LN-25 from my dad. The invertec and LN-25 will pretty much replace my wirematic 250 except for spool gun use. Next is a LN-7 or LF-72I have a garage and welding business. Welding pays better with less hassle. If I can find enough work, the garage will be closed. This should weld as smooth as my ranger 250. Chopper technology. Yeah, I am fired up.Last edited by David R; 03-13-2007 at 06:29 PM.

Reply:This should weld as smooth as my ranger 250. Chopper technology.I bet it's one step above. I owned a Ranger 305G and 300 Powermig, buta great inverter is a step above. BB396 has a Invertec 350 advance processmachine and a Powermig 300 and he really likes his Invertec the best. Not that he does not like the Powermig 300 real well too. I will be interested in what you think about the Invertec. I ran my ranger with a GMA-LN9 feeder too.
Reply:As far as I am concerened, the ranger 250 has an inverter in it too. It welds at 19 to 20 KHz DC. I checked it with an Oscope. The arc force knob changes the frequency and ON time. It took me a long time to figure out that one.Its going to be a while before I have the machine in my hands. Its ordered, but I am waiting for that big check to show up so I can pay for the new machine and buy some leads......Friday I was welding 1/8 7018 overhead and horizantal with the rangere 250. The bead appearence impressed me. Never saw anything so smooth. I will post pics of beads when the machine shows up. I bought 100 lbs of flat stock just to play with. Once its here and I am used to it, I am taking my 3G and 4G 70 series AWS test.David
