Reply:You are correct, I am not professional machinist, however to me the rest of the lathe is in pretty decent shape, bearings are good, bed is decent, could use a new flat belt but is serviceable really a nice little lathe compared to others for sale for mordant money.no other gears other than back gear option. Only reason for selling is I got a bigger one for free
