I know how much you guys like tools even if it's not a welding machine! here is my new to me RAD, it is a Canedy-Otto 4'X11". No more stressing out the Bridgeport with large drills. Before you beat me up about my son having on flip flops in the shop no production was going on at the time. He is just posing as my size ref. The machine is 9' tall.Miller XMT 304 CC/CVSyncrowave 180 SDLincoln PowerMig 255XTTermalDynamics 52Lincoln 305GComlpete machine shop to back it up
Reply:Very nice acquisition! I have wanted one for some time but cannot justify the space requirements given the rarity it would be used.I am jealous!http://jackalopefab.com/MM210Synchrowave 200DXMiller XMT350 w/60series feederMiller Bobcat 250 with SGA 100 and spoolgunHTP PlasmaFull Machine shop with everything

Reply:Nice. Looks to be in good shape. Mine's a little rougher but it's a 4' 13". I find that it's the most used machine in the shop. Reply:That's about the same age as mine. I know mine was built either just prior to or just after WWII. It's not got a war production board sticker on it (like my Pratt lathe) so it wasn't built during. But from brochures and manuals that I inherited from my former employer it's got features that where in place just prior to the war and where changed just after the war. Thanks. I've got a virtual museum going here. :-) I've got three shapers at the moment but only one in service. The other two are in storage.Millermatic 252XMT 304'sDynasty 280DXHypertherm PowerMax 1250Miller Trailblazer 302 EFIOptima PulserXR feeder and XR Edge gun and more athttp://members.dslextreme.com/users/waynecook/index.htm
Reply:A lot of those old drills do not have interlocks on them. Be very careful that the clamps at the column are released before raising or lowering. I have seen some serious damage done to gear boxes from people not know what they are doing on radial arms. That will make drilling so much easier. You can even do the odd bit of boring to size with a single point tool if you are careful.
Reply:Nice!
Reply:Very Nice! Not sure about the comments that it would be rarely used...I found myself using mine quite often....it's torn apart now for a rebuild and I miss it!Here's a link to my rebuild over on PM: http://www.practicalmachinist.com/vb...-drill-209283/Andrew
