Another cool tool. Magnetic Saw fence.

Another cool tool I found at this wood working shop was the magnetic band saw/ table saw fence.http://www.carterproducts.com/produc...=474&cat_id=75I want to extend the table on my bandsaw so I can make use of cutting something bigger (and straight) and look into getting one of these. I wanted to see how sturdy this magnetic fence was as I was skeptic, but wow was it strong. The knob turns I think 2.5 times around and it's LOCKED DOWN. I was literally slamming a piece of 2x4 into it to get it to move and no luck. So if I can get a bigger band saw or modify mine I'm going to look into this for sure.They also had this stabilizer, which was very neat. The guy was taking a piece of 2x4 and cutting it really quick and making really insane and tight cuts and pulling the wood out halfway through the cut, or would cut and turn it 90* and then keep going. Somehow he ended up with a reindeer at the end. It was neat. Reply:I know the Carter Products stuff is high quality. I just got their guide setup for my bandsaw and it cuts much better with it installed.
